We use Carl Zeiss lenses across the catalogue. Single-vision prescriptions are made-to-order in the workshop and posted within seven working days. Below: every option we offer, plainly explained.
Zeiss BlueGuard
Blue-light
Carl Zeiss BlueGuard coating, which absorbs ~40% of blue light at 415–455nm — the screen-emission band associated with eye fatigue. Visually neutral; not yellow-tinted.

Single-vision Rx
Made-to-order in the workshop. We choose the index based on your prescription strength to minimise lens thickness without unnecessary cost. Sphere up to ±10.00, cylinder up to ±4.00.

Polarised sun
Carl Zeiss polarised lenses with anti-reflection on the inner face. Standard on every sun frame. Mineral glass available on request — heavier, more scratch-resistant.

Frequent questions
How recent does my prescription need to be?
Within two years for adults, twelve months for under-18s. Every EU country and the UK accept this standard. If yours has just expired, write to us — we sometimes accept a recent contact-lens prescription as confirmation.
Will my progressives work in these frames?
Most of them, yes — but not all. Frames smaller than 48mm have too little vertical room for a comfortable progressive corridor. We will tell you at order if a frame won’t take your specific add power; the order pauses until you choose a different frame, with no penalty.
Can you make readers from my prescription?
Yes. The Reading line frames (Pico, Quill) are sold with pre-set dioptre lenses (+1.0 to +3.0). For prescription readers, order any optical frame with the “Single-vision Rx” lens type and a sphere of +0.50 to +3.50.
Is the engraving really only on the inside of the temple?
Yes. We engrave on the inside of the right temple, sized to be invisible from outside but readable when you remove the frame. Twelve characters, no emoji, free format. We will email you a render before we cut.
What if I get the frame and the prescription is wrong?
Send it back. We re-cut the lenses to your corrected prescription, no questions asked, within thirty days of receiving the original order. Single-vision Rx orders include this in the price.
